knowledge organizers for biology education

It is belived that knowledge resides in the meanings of the relations that are used to connect concepts. According to our model, knowledge organizers consists of—(i) concepts; (ii) relation types; (iii) logical connectors and quantifiers.

To begin with, classify the concepts based on their role whether a concept belongs to a structural concept, process concept, taxonomical concept, etc.

Then assign valid and authentic semantic relation to the concepts so as to create a proposition such as isapartof, isakindof, islocatedin, etc.

Based on the above knowledge organization model a concept map of biomolecules is created in which the knowledge organizers (only 2 relation types) are applied.
