India has voted against the MS-OOXML standards. There have been quite a number of meetings taking place at the Bureau of Indian Standards, New Delhi.
In today’s meeting, held on March 20, 2008, India gave a final decision as “NO” to the MS file document format which MS proposed to be an open standard format. The main crux of the article is:
“Thus ODF (Open Document Format) ….. will continue to be the only “standard” file format as far as India is concerned”.
